To start the new year off, we here at PosiGen are going to be featuring a different piece about solar each week. It could be a person, location, or event.
The topic this week is an older story, but one that is a favorite in our Marketing Department here at PosiGen. It’s the tale of Richard Turere, a brilliant young man who helped to save his village livestock from the lions that threatened them without harm to the lions themselves.
He used an original setup of lights, batteries, and solar panels to mimic the effects of people walking in the field with flashlights to scare the lions away. As a result, he has helped his entire village and beyond coexist with lions while protecting their herds and avoiding conflict that often ends in the death of the lion or their prey.
Watch his TED talk below and read more about his invention.
